As an academic and practitioner in the field of enterprise value analysis and creation, I have studied extensively the methods used and philosophies that successful investors have to select their investments. In a field of endeavor such as this, I find it useful – critical actually – to synthesize the methods and philosophies of successful investors into a few broad concepts. I have been an investor since I was thirteen years old and have been a professional investment banker, securities analyst, and investment portfolio manager for thirty-six years – so I have been at this endeavor of discovering the successful investment strategies for quite some time.
